Check over system and take sample - I live in a private estate called Greenhill Place, adjacent to Rickworth Place, which is a Hastoe Housing estate. We, like Rickworth, have a sewage treatment plant, which we ensure is properly and professionally maintained. The Rickworth Place treatment plant occupies part of the same emclosure as ours. The effluent from both plants combines before entering the long soakaway pipes. In his most recent report our maintenance engineer reports thst the effluent does not meet the stipulated quality levels and states that, while our plant is operating correctly, the Rickworth Place plant is not. The relevant part of the engineer's report is as follows: Summary of works completed Full general service completed. The system is currently operating well . However the discharging liquid is not of great quality due to the second plant still appearing to be discharging slightly dirty water. Apart from this the systems are looking good and in good working order

Currently has a septic tank - was there when he bought the property 6-7 years ago. Doesnt know where is discharges to although when it was last emptied 2 years ago, about 1 foot from the bottom there are multiple small pipes which seem to lead to where their flower garden. At some point, there has been another hole made in the wall further up so it can drain away - possibly to a make do soakaway Last time it was emptied, had 3000 gallons removed Not selling the property but they have known that it has needed doing for a while now. Started to get waste leaching on the surface in their flower garden Wants someone to pop out and advise what is there best option and have a proposal for this. They have a 5-bed property and there is a 1-bed cottage that the in-laws live in, both dwellings are served by the system Needs a system that can cope with fluctuation in flows as only 4 adults live there. One question needs asking is that could the cottage be sold in future as separate deeds? this will help re sizing

Return trip following visit - System is only working on one pump About 5-10 mins after Sam left alarm went on and was full by 5pm - Electrician has attended site and found one pump connection was causing it to trip - Isolated and now working on the one pump They have advised "I don’t know which pump the fault is with. The electrician didn’t know the fuse board is not labelled left/right. I can get it removed if needed. " in regards to the pump we can't lift
Current septic tank has a hole in and is leaking. They've been using their neighbours outside toilet so is quite urgent Shared system, hers is 4-bed, neighbours is 4/5bed (only 4 adults and 2 nearly adults living there at the moment though) The current system discharges into the field above. There is a spring that runs through their land that leads to a drain at the bottom of the drive. This spring is only approx 2 away from the tank. Looking to upgrade to STP and connect onto the spring. Access is ok, had digger in to excavate and locate the current problem. current tank has pumped outlet so for the time being, base new one on a pumped outlet Wants us to include building regs, spoil removal and electrician (advised cost for these will be listed in the additional items
Job: As per the provided report, to inspect the STP due to a reported failed blower component and is contributing to bad smells throughout the warehouse and nearby external areas. **DO NOT FIT ANY PARTS WITHOUT GO AHEAD FROM THE OFFICE** Further info from MD: “Further to your recent request, please see our scope of works to attend site and replace the failed air blower within the Marsh Ensign treatment Plant Based on the prior attendance, it is clear that the system has been flooded as there is biological filter media in the blower box, we would suggest that this also needs further investigation. The likelihood is that the blue 230v plug and socket will also need to be replaced, we would suggest that these are swapped for an IP67 rated junction box. Following this repair, can we respectfully suggest that the treatment plant should be serviced annually. This will probably not require emptying, but this may be confirmed during the service.”
